Betty Pearson has been teaching private cello lessons for forty-five years. She was a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square, played professionally in quartets and was the principal cellist in orchestra pits at musicals since the age of sixteen. For many years, she maintained her Suzuki certification.
From the age of 12, Betty was taught by two of the best cellist in the state of Utah, David Freed and Chris Tiemeyer. She performed in her first professional-level musical at the age of 14.
Betty attended the University of Utah in music education and taught all of her children to play instruments. Several of her students have gone on to perform professionally across the country.
She teaches both Suzuki and a combination of traditional and Suzuki. Although she focuses primarily on the cello, Betty also teaches beginning piano and violin lessons.
